Just a thought: searching for enthusiasm

It’s not easy being a gaming enthusiast.

It means being constantly annoyed while playing games.

I’m currently playing Fallen Legion on Switch. There are many things I wish the game had done better.

It’s a good game.

It’s not that it wouldn’t be a good game.

It’s that I’m an enthusiast.

It means having experienced something so often that you overlook the positives and focus on the faults.

Mostly because you’ve already seen it done a hundred times. You’ve seen it done better. You know what could be improved and how.

So, Vayandil and I have been making a webcomic for about 3 and a half years now.

There are a lot of webcomics.

That means there are a lot of webcomic enthusiasts.

Those peeps probably find a lot of fault in our comic. Fault that we never really hear about.

In a sense, that’s a relief. Yet it also means that we don’t get much feedback to improve on. (I want to write another piece touching on the subject of feedback at some point.)

As if that wasn’t bad enough, now we’re entering the blogging scene.

Are there blogging enthusiasts? Is that a thing?

Have we just exposed ourselves to yet another group of hyper-zealous consumers?!

Are you an enthusiast?

Is your enthusiasm bothering you so much that you find fault in one or more of the following:

  • this site?
  • our works?
  • owls???

Crazy owlmister. Eternally attemps to find ways to prove that his thousands of hours put into video and computer games has not been just an utter waste of time.
